tahajjud is an islamic nawfil prayer which is performed in the night. its time is after isha prayer and before fajr prayer. means tahajjud prayer starts just after isha prayer and willend when the time of the fajr prayer starts. We can pray Tahajjud anytime after ‘Isha until before Fajr parayer call (adhan). But the best time is during the last third (last 1/3 part) of the night, because that is when Allah’s mercy and acceptance of du‘as is greatest.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when the last third of the night remains, and He says: Who is calling upon Me so that I may answer him? Who is asking from Me so that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?”— (Sahih al-Bukhari 1145, Sahih Muslim 758)
